Sent straight from heaven and into the glorifying house of theatrical praise, Parenthesy director, Cameron Grant was at the Regent Theatre on Friday November 8th to capture the media call of Sister Act and present your first inside look at this holy new hysterical adaptation of the 1992 movie classic.
Based on the film, which quickly became a global phenomenon, Sister Act is set to light up our theatres and lift our spirits with its irresistible energy and joy, that only this iconic story can!
Starring Casey Donovan as Deloris Van Cartier, Genevieve Lemon as Mother Superior and Rhonda Burchmore as Sister Mary Lazarus, this Holy Trinity of Australian icons headline Sister Act in this family fun, feel good show – thank god!
The show also features Sophie Montague, Bianca Bruce, Raphael Wong, James Bryers, Damien Bermingham, Emma Powell, Sally Bourne, Jordan Angelides, Tom Struik, James Bell, Kayla Carter, Gabriyel Thomas, Theodore Williams, and Patrick Volpe, with Elenor Smith Adams, Cara Bessey, Melanie Bird, Jake Ameduri, and Hollie James as swings and offstage covers.
Simon Fairweather’s choreography is to be praised, as the energetic cast show light and life in each number, proving versatile movements and punchy routines that hit each beat without missing. See for yourself, and watch this bootleg recording of the company perform ‘Spread The Love Around’:
